An Amazon employee in Minnesota allegedly shot and killed her pregnant fiancé just days before she was due to give birth.
Kyla O’Neal, 31, was taken to the hospital after being shot in the parking lot of an Amazon warehouse in the Minneapolis suburb of Lakeville, CBS News reported.
She did not survive, but her son, Messiah, was delivered and reportedly alive.
O’Neill has three other children, including a daughter with 32-year-old Donte Rafiel McRae, who has been charged with second-degree manslaughter.
“I need him to go through this,” Kayla’s mother, Katina O’Neill, told CBS News, referring to Messiah. No, not right now.

The devastated mother said the baby “has no brain functioning now” but “has faith.”
Katina added:
She said her daughter ended her relationship with McCrae shortly before the shooting.

“She didn’t deserve what happened to her. She had a promising future,” Katina said.
police commander. William Gall told KKTV that if a pregnant woman is seriously injured, “it just adds more stress and emotion to the call because we’re trying to save another human being.”

“Of course, we all want the baby to be healthy and to survive and thrive. When that happens it will be a miracle and great news.”
Records show that a judge told McCray in May that he could not own a firearm because he was convicted.
Amazon told CBS News it is cooperating with the investigation.
