John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s family just got a little bigger!
The couple’s baby was born on Friday, Jan. 13, and the proud father confirmed just hours after the child’s arrival.
The 43-year-old Legend said he welcomed “a little baby this morning” to the crowd at a private concert.
“What a blessed day,” he said.
The singer added that she “didn’t get much sleep” but was “feeling energized” after spending “a lot of time” in the hospital.

Attendees at the special event quickly took to social media to share the big baby news.
“@John Legend Just told us this morning a baby was born,” wrote one concert-goer.
The birth of their baby comes after the couple suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in October 2020. The couple are already parents to son Miles Theodore, 4.5 1/2, and his daughter Luna Simone, 6.5 1/2.
When speaking to PEOPLE in March, Multi-Hyphenate talked about preparing for a new addition to the family.
“We are all excited,” Legend said. Big sister and big brother will do well. “

In September, Teigen, 37, told PEOPLE that Luna and Miles were “very excited” about the new addition to the family and learned about her pregnancy early on.
“I had IVF done, so maybe nine days after I did it, I found out it worked and I was pregnant.”
“They knew I was going to the hospital and we were going to put this egg in Mommy’s belly. So they knew from the beginning that it could go wrong. I knew it had happened before,” explained Teigen, who announced her pregnancy in August.
