LPGA player and AIG Women’s Open winner Sophia Popov announces her pregnancy

Sofia Popov took a career break to focus on her health, but won’t be returning anytime soon. The AIG Women’s Open winner is expecting her first child.

Sophia Popov was out of work last year after injuring her right shoulder. Towards the end of the year, however, she found out about her pregnancy.

A German golfer was diagnosed with supraspinatus tendonitis and needed time to heal. Her baby is due in June 2023.

Sophia Popov was also diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis. Her doctor suggested that she have a baby as soon as possible to avoid any risks for her, as her condition could affect her fertility. She didn’t wait long because she said she didn’t want to feel

Sophia took to her Instagram account to share the good news with her fans. In her post, the golfer posted a cluster of memories from last year with the caption:

“There are so many incredible moments in 2022! You’ve been blessed with so much more than you can give, baby.”

She goes on to write:

“Max and I are due to have Meres baby in June 2023. Until then, learn to swing your belly and enjoy more family time!”

Sophia is overjoyed and enjoying her pregnancy. She also said in her post that she is looking forward to getting back on the golf course soon.

Sofia Popov could return in the twilight of 2023

Popov is married to former Kentucky golfer Maximilian Mehres. However, he now works as an accountant.

Sophia is heavily influenced by young mothers like Stacey Lewis, who won trophies after giving birth to her daughter. Popov was nervous when she found out she was pregnant, but she is now happily cherishing it and building new memories. In one of her interviews, Sophia said:

“All the stress was pouring out of my body.”

Last month, Sophia celebrated her wedding anniversary. She posted several photos with her husband on her Instagram account.
