Last fall, a Texas man was charged with murder after killing a 20-year-old pregnant woman and her unborn child.
Kearyn Hollins, 20, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder and aggravated assault in the September shooting that killed Jennifer Hernandez and injured her 17-year-old boyfriend.
Hernandez, eight months pregnant with her first child, a boy, was gunned down in Houston on Sept. 16, just one day before her baby shower.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office said at the time that Hernandez and her boyfriend were leaving a Shell gas station and stopped at an intersection when a white sedan sped up behind them and its occupant opened fire on the couple.
Hernandez was shot multiple times and pronounced dead in hospital. Her baby was also not saved.

The pregnant mother’s boyfriend sustained two gunshot wounds but survived.
A 17-year-old man told police he had no contact with the person in the white sedan that may have triggered the shooting.
More than four months later, no motives have yet been revealed, and it’s unclear if Hollins had any sort of relationship with Hernandez or her boyfriend.
At the time of the fatal incident, Hollins was out on bail on charges of tampering with and stealing evidence, according to authorities, ABC 13 reported.

Hollins appeared in court on Thursday, and a judge set his bond at more than $1 million.
Hernandez’s family previously said Hernandez was thrilled to have a son and was planning to open a nail salon.
