Former Love Island star Shauna Phillips has opened up about her health fears when she felt a “strange pain” in her stomach during her pregnancy.

The 28-year-old, who competed in the 2020 ITV competition, announced in October that she was expecting her first child.

The reality star is having a baby with her boyfriend, who keeps her identity private, following his desire to stay out of the limelight on social media.

In a post shared on her Instagram story on Friday, Dec. 30, Shauna revealed that she headed to the hospital in the morning due to concerns.

“I came to the hospital this morning because I’ve been having strange pains in my stomach for the past few days and was worried,” she revealed.

She confirmed that the baby was fine and had an infection.

“The baby is happy and chilling, but he has an infection that needs treatment,” she added.

“I’m always scared that I’m wasting my time in the hospital, or that what I’m feeling is normal when my body is growing like a baby, but I’m listening to my instincts. I’m glad I leaned over!”

A few days after announcing her pregnancy, Shaughna visited the hospital after feeling unwell for several days.

“It wasn’t the most enjoyable Saturday ever. This headache is on day four and it’s only getting worse, so it’s best to get checked out,” she said at the time.

She also added, “It’s always nice to hear Lil Bubba’s heart beating great and strong.”

In November, Shaughna admitted she panicked when she couldn’t feel her baby moving as usual in her womb.

“Over the weekend, I didn’t really feel my baby move much in the morning,” she recalled.

“I didn’t feel much movement and started panicking because everyone said I should call my midwife as soon as I noticed any changes. I felt weird kicks here and there, but It wasn’t what it used to be.

Shauna is due to give birth in March 2023.
