As the holiday season approached, one woman, now four months pregnant and having completed her first trimester without complications, wanted to make her pregnancy announcement the best gift of all.
But one complication occurred when she made the mistake of searching her husband’s phone while he was in the shower and discovered something that would change her future forever.
She discovers that her husband slept with her mother during her pregnancy.
The 26-year-old posted about her living nightmare on Reddit’s “r/TrueOffMyChest” subreddit.
“Honestly, I don’t know how to react,” she says of finding out her husband of 30 was cheating on her with her mother of 52.
She claimed she was working on reducing stressors because it was bad for her baby, but was having a hard time putting it all together in the news she discovered.
She revealed she had her suspicions, but that at first he seemed “overjoyed” about her pregnancy, always kissing her and calling himself lucky. I acknowledged
“About two weeks after the surprise announcement, he stopped hugging and kissing me like he always does,” she confessed.
“He said he stopped eating the meal I made after work and already had fast food or something. I also noticed that he changed the lock screen which is a picture of us. .”
She was unsure of what these things meant and tried not to read them, but she learned the truth three days ago, on December 15, 2022.
While her husband was in the shower, she found the texts, photos, and videos they exchanged.
She saw a photo of her mother in lingerie when her husband kindly replied with a photo of what he knew.
“He said he didn’t want to hurt me and he should stop, but my mom said as long as I keep it a secret it won’t hurt me,” she said.
But what upset her most was a message her mother recently sent to her husband claiming that “our hearts want each other”, acknowledging her daughter’s love for her husband and hurting her. She expressed her grief over her ex-husband’s death and thanked him for helping her through her ex-husband’s death.
“I think it is important to know that my father died of a stroke about five years ago. I said I refused to go back to dating and romance because of something,” she wrote. “That’s absolutely bullish–t.”
She sent herself all the evidence, deleted all traces of it, and asked Redditors for advice on what to do next.
Everyone told her that she should “duck in a line” and plan to escape.
The overwhelming majority said she should consider marriage, consult a divorce attorney, and plan a battle for custody of any children she would bear.
Not only that, but she said she shouldn’t let anyone do that, and told her to go public once all the legal issues were sorted out.
“See a lawyer. Get your finances sorted. Work out a game plan,” reads the top comment. “If you have someone you trust, you might live with that person.”
“Don’t keep this to yourself. Once you know what you’re going to do (leave, kick him out…) let everyone know what’s going on. Don’t let them get away with this.” I can’t.”
Aside from sympathy, many expressed disgust at her husband’s and mother’s betrayal, and seriously suggested that she do her best to expose them.
“They are both disgusting and don’t love you as they claim,” another user wrote. Do not keep their secrets, but please consult a lawyer first before confronting them.”
Some people even went so petty with it, claiming they should read all the texts out loud during Christmas dinner or make holiday cards out of them.
Whatever she does, her holiday season will be unforgettable.
