MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Police have identified a pregnant woman whose body was found inside her Silver Spring apartment after a fatal convenience store shooting earlier this month.
Officers have identified the woman found inside the Enclave apartment as 26-year-old Denise Middleton. Investigators believe she was murdered in October, more than a month before her body was discovered.
Middleton’s body was found while processing a search warrant related to the December 8 shooting of a convenience store clerk.
Police obtained a search warrant for the residence of Tory Damien Moore, 31. Tory allegedly shot and killed a clerk during an altercation the day before.

Ayalew Wondimu, 61, an employee of the Dash In Convenience Store on the 11100 block of New Hampshire Street, was killed during the altercation, police said.
Moore is believed to have lived in an apartment alongside Middleton’s body. According to police, at the time of her arrest, Moore told her investigators that she had an affair with Middleton and that the two got into an altercation that led to her death.
Middleton, who was 38 weeks pregnant at the time, was found in an advanced state of decomposition in her bedroom and taken to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office (OCME) for an autopsy, which revealed that Middleton had been shot multiple times. times.
According to the OCME, the fetus, a boy, would have survived had it been delivered at the time of Middleton’s death.
Moore is charged with three counts of first-degree murder of Wondim, Middleton, and an unborn child. He has also been charged with assaulting a pregnant person.
He is currently being held without bail.
